It is no secret that I love the wines from Basel Cellars. So of course, I had to feature their delicious rosé. I will spare you the story of Basel, however, as I’ve shared it a few times. This time, I’ll get right to the most important point…the wine!

The 2015 Basel Cellars Rosé of Syrah is 100% Syrah from their beautiful estate vineyard, Double River Ranch in Walla Walla. The grapes that make up this wine were picked specifically for the purpose of rosé. By utilizing this methodology, the winery is able to ensure that the sugar levels and acid content are exactly where they want them to be.

On the nose, there is an intriguing combination of kiwi, cantaloupe, strawberries, and good bubble gum. The palate brings a nice balance of acidity and fruitiness. This wine is one that screams for backyard BBQ’s, friends, and a nice evening on the back porch.
