So if you haven’t been paying attention, parts of the US are shutting down again.
Here in Washington, where this sites World HQ is, we are in a strict lockdown. Restaurants and bars (including wineries, distilleries, and breweries) are either to-go only or outdoor dining. Some places have chose to close completely, as it doesn’t make financial sense for them to be open. Whether or not that is a good idea is a debate to be had on another day. I have my opinions, but opinions are like assholes and belly buttons…everyone has one. Our stores and personal services (hair dressers/nail salons/barbers) are reduced to 25% of their capacity.
What does this mean for me and this site? Absolutely nothing. I’m still considered “essential”, so I don’t get to lounge around in my pajamas at home.
But, with a new round of shutdowns, I have been thinking…what can I do here for people who are at home and surfing the internet while bored?
Thought #1: Back in May, Neat Pour posted a list of Google’s most searched cocktails during quarantine, sorted by state. That list got me thinking…why not feature them? So this idea will be taking off within the next few weeks. I have a list of items that I need to get at my local liquor purveyor and grocery store, and will be getting them ready to explore!
Thought #2: Figure out what I want to put on YouTube. And find the time to do it, because yeah…the day job + a learning to cope with a health condition that has answered a lot of questions, but fielded even more is exhausting. Don’t worry, the health condition isn’t horrible…it’s just something that I have to learn to live with and adapt to.
