Invading the Southern Willamette Valley: Wine Media Conference 2021

Hear ye, hear ye!  Wine Media “Summer Camp” is back!

This year, members of the wine trade and media will take over the Southern Willamette Valley and the city of Eugene, OR.  I am honestly looking forward to this conference.  The city of Eugene is one of the best cities in Oregon for a conference.  While Portland may be *the* spot for beer and food, Eugene is a very close second.  Eugene is home to numerous breweries, including one of my favorites, ColdFire Brewing, distilleries, and wineries.

There are so many sessions I’m excited to attend.  One of the sessions I’m excited for is called, “Podcasts and Livestreams and Zooms, Oh My!” presented by the brilliant minds behind one of my favorite podcasts, One Bourbon, One Chard, or One Beer, Jason Stubblefield of Cork Envy and Chris Kern of Forgotten Grapes.  With their humor, candor, and experience, this session is bound to be one of the best ones in the history of the Wine Media Conference.

Another session I’m excited for is “Oregon Sparkling Wine: Business Up Front, Party in the Back”.  If you’ve ever had sparkling wine from Oregon, you’ll understand why this is an intriguing session.  Sparkling Wine in Oregon ranges from traditional to “they made bubbles with *what*??”, so this session should be interesting, as Craig Camp of Troon Vineyard and Christine Collier Clair of Willamette Valley Vineyards will lead and educate us in this discussion.

Lastly, I am looking forward to the camaraderie that is the Wine Media Conference.
